Single Packet of 1,000 Seeds
Dragon's Blood Sedum, also known as "Red Stonecrop" is the perfect addition to any rock garden or other rocky landscape. Easily established from sedum seeds, the plants only grow to a mature height of about 4 to 6 inches tall and will trail outward about 12 inches in length. The seeds are easily grown indoors for later transplanting and the plants will not require much maintenance once they are established.
Dragon's Blood sedum is a perennial flowering plant that produces clusters of crimson-pink colored flowers. Each flower is star shaped and measures about 1/4" in diameter. The stems are fragile and are lined with rows and rows of attractive rounded leaves. The leaves vary in color and turn from green to red with age. Dragon's Blood sedum is best planted in a fast draining soil and grows best in mounds for thicker coverage.

Sowing The Seed
Sedum seeds are extremely tiny, so be sure to start these indoors for best results. Starting the seeds in small biodegradable starter pots is recommended for easier transplanting. Sow the tiny seeds directly to the surface of your planting medium. Do not cover the seeds with dirt as they will require light to properly germinate. Sprinkle 5 to 10 seeds per group.
Sedum requires a planting medium that is fast draining, such as a succelents mixture. This will allow their root system to develop without issues as they can easily rot if the soil is too moist. They also require an area of full sunlight and are very fragile during the germination stage. Be careful to only mist the seeds so that the surface is kept wet until germination. Lessen the amount of water provided as they mature.
Germination & Growth
Sedum seeds won’t take but a couple of days to germinate. After misting the seeds daily and making sure they are receiving direct light, the seeds will show signs of life by displaying tiny green sprouts after at least 7 days. The plants will grow slowly and eventually reach a mature height of under 6 inches. They can easily trail the rocky landscape up to 1 foot wide.
