Single Packet of 400 Seeds
Grow a garden filled with the beautiful Purple Attraction Statice flower, from freshly harvested Limonium sinuatum flower seeds. Purple Attraction is a beautiful flowering annual that produces violet colored florets, which sit above plants that grow to a mature height of roughly 32 inches tall. The plants themselves flower through the summer months, attracting an array of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees, butterflies, honeybees & hummingbirds. These beauties are often times used as a cut flower, and can be seen in many floral arrangements and bouquets as well.
Purple Attraction is categorized as an annual flowering plant. The plants establish and grow quickly from fresh seeds, later flowering in a single season. The plant life on the surface, as well as the roots, will later die with the first killing frost. If the seeds drop to the bare ground beneath, you can expect new plants to grow the following season. You can also collect the seeds at the end of the Autumn season, just before the first frost, when the flower heads have died and dried.

Sowing The Seed
Statice plants do not like to be disturbed once established, so transplanting is usually out of the question. However, if you are using peat pots, start indoors 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost, later transplanting into the garden when the weather is warm and all danger of frost has passed. The seeds should be sown directly to the surface of the soil, allowing direct sunlight to reach them for proper germination to occur. Slightly push the seeds into the topsoil to keep them in place.
Statice will enjoy an area of full sunlight for the majority of the day, with optimal temperatures ranging from 68F to 70F. Your sowing medium should be average to fair and can be mixed with a bit of peat moss. Also make sure that your area is well drained as well. To increase your drainage, we recommend adding a light compost to any areas that consist of hard, compact soil. The plants will not be too dependent upon moisture and can be quite drought tolerant, however you should water them lightly each day with a mist setting until germination has occurred.
Germination & Growth
Limonium seeds typically begin to germinate within 7 to 14 days after sowing. The plants will grow to a mature height of roughly 32 inches tall, and can be spaced about 12 to 18 inches apart from one another. The beautiful violet florets will bloom through the summer months, attracting an array of beneficial insects to the garden. the plants are often used as a cut flower in floral arrangements and bouquets as well.
