Snapdragons produce a multitude of colors, including shades of red, yellow, orange, white, pink and purple. The blooms can range in size depending on the variety, but the majority open up to 1/2 inch to 1 inch in size. The stems are populated with vertical rows of open mouthed flowers that resemble a dragons head, hence the name "Snapdragon."
Snapdragons are known to be annual flowering plants. Annuals will grow quickly from freshly harvested seeds, displaying many colorful bloom before wilting with the cooler temperatures of the Autumn season.
