Tomatillos are native to South America and Mexico and are often times seen in Mexican cuisine. They are the key ingredient in "Salsa Verde" The small fruits are about the size of a golf ball typically and are found inside of a paper like husk. The plants are grown similarly to Tomatoes and prefer full sunlight.
