Sunflowers are Summers favorite flower, and planting Sunflower seeds might be just as much fun as watching them bloom. They come in an array of rustic colors, including red, orange yellow and even bronze. The plants can grow anywhere between 2 feet tall, to a towering height of up to 9 feet tall depending on the variety.
Sunflowers have two growth habits: single stem and multi-branching. The blooms of a single stem will produce a single large flower at the top, while branching varieties will display multiple blooms per plant. Sunflowers are categorized as Annuals and grow for a single season. They later wilt with the cooler temperatures of the Autumn season.
