Royal Carpet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima) is a low-growing, fragrant tender perennial known for its vibrant clusters of tiny, deep purple to lavender flowers. Blooming profusely from spring to early fall, it forms a dense, carpet-like spread, making it ideal for borders, rock gardens, or containers. Its sweet, honey-like scent attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies, while its easy-care nature thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Perfect for adding a splash of color, Royal Carpet Alyssum brings charm and elegance to any garden setting.

GROWERS TIP

Alyssum is extremely easy to grow from seed and can be started indoors, or directly outdoors. If starting indoors, sow 3 to 5 seeds per starter pot, 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost. Transplant or direct sow in the spring when temperatures are at least 65°F and all danger of frost has passed. Once the plants are well established they are quite drought resistant and deer resistant as well.
