Gayfeather is a beautiful perennial flower that produces upright blooms with clusters of frilly fluffy petals. Oddly enough, the blooms will begin flowering from the top to the bottom. The plants will likely bloom in their second year of growth, unless the seeds are sown and the plants are established early enough in the season.
Gayfeather is known to attract all sorts of beneficial insects such as butterflies and pollinators. They also make a splendid cutflower in floral arrangements and bouquets as well!
