    basic information

Vera Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is a versatile plant valued in gardens for its fragrant, purple flower spikes that attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, adding beauty and biodiversity. Its aromatic foliage and blooms are used in dried arrangements, potpourri, and culinary applications, such as flavoring desserts or teas. Medicinally, lavender is known for its calming properties, often used in essential oils or sachets to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and aid sleep. It also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities, making it useful in salves for minor burns or skin irritations.

    How To Grow

GROWER TIP: Lavender seeds can benefit from a process of stratification. Place the seeds in Ziplocs, between a damp paper towel for 3 to 4 weeks. Sow in CowPots / starter pots, 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost. Direct sow or transplant when temperatures are at least 65F. Keep in mind, the seed requires light to properly germinate.
